Thanks Esa. I personally have only been on Mindspring for 3 months and "Cindy" is the only user I despise with her righteous attitude.

Anything you post is becoming inflammatory to a great many of us. 32 of us have sent emails complaining about the vicious nature of your attacks on people.

This past Monday, Cynthia Smathers wrote the below message on this newsgroup. I am Richard Hillyard, and none of this was initiated from any memer of my family. This past week, I contacted Mindspring about suspected unauthorized use of my account. If any messages were emailed to this woman, they were sent by someone other than me, or a member of my family. Early this week with the help of Mindspring technical support, my password was changed to prevent further use. From what Ms. Smathers knows about the Internet, perhaps she is the one who hacked my old password.
I do not know Ms. Smathers, and until now have never heard of her. And frankly have no interest in her since I have no idea who she is. For her to post the things below with out checking into them further is slander, and as soon as I find out who she is, she will probably hear from someone concerning this. In fact, I have already forwarded a copy of her post to an attorney. In addition, I have received no email from her or Mindspring in regards to her allegations. In regards to my being a christian, I would assume that Ms. Smathers is not. I am married with 4 children, some probably Ms. Smathers age, and cannot imagine ever desiring or having an interest in this woman.
As far as my privacy, my phone number and address is public knowledge, and I DO HAVE CALLER ID. I also have call block of any unidentified number. What I am saying, is that if Ms. Smathers is suggesting a telephone campaign, all BellSouth needs is a date and time of a harassing call and they will take action. I do not have to do anything. I do not have anything to hide, including my phone number.
As to all of the below email addresses, some of them are mine and some are not. If Ms. Smathers would use her telecommunications and internet expertise to search for how many Richard Hillyards there are in the US, she would find that there are several.
As far as Mindspring takin action against me, I spoke with a customer support person twice this week and not once was any of this mentioned to me. In fact, I knew nothing about this until I read the post below.
In conclusion, I sugest that Ms. Smathers get all the facts before she posts anything on a newsgroup, however public or private it may be. I have no intention of responding to anymore of her personal attacks and any further posts concerning me will be forwarded to my attorney as well.

Smathers is suggesting a telephone campaign, all BellSouth needs is a date and time of a
harassing call and they will take action.

I'm sure that MindSpring will take action as I've already given them
the information about this situation, but I also realize that
I'm probably not the only person so "honored" by his attention.
I just went to your web page and find nothing tht would induce me to send ANY attention your way.
:I've had no contact with Richard Hillyard, who uses several email addresses
(listed below) until today. At that point, he started sending me a bit
of a mailbomb, referencing several threads in the
mindspring.local.atlanta newsgroup. I sent email to him,
I never received an email from this person.
:cc'd to postmaster@mindspring.com, stating that I did not wish to enter
into conversation with him and I'd consider any further email
harassment. I didn't complain about the next email I received from
him, thinking that he may not have read my request quite yet.
:A few minutes later, though, he started using two different anonymous
remailers (shell.portal.com and flame.alias.net) to send more email,
including obscene suggestions.
I have no idea what an anonymous emailer is. Guess I am just not the
hacker that Ms. Smathers is.
:I'd appreciate knowing if any other users have received similar email from him.
I would appreciate knowing this also.
:Looks like he needs to spend more time with those "Christian Resources on the
Web" he lists on his links page.
>From this woman's attitude, she needs to spend more time than me.
:Richard, just a minor point--if you're going to harass folks, you need to
better protect your family's privacy. Your home phone number and
address are publicly available (in the Atlanta phone book, no big
mystery there).
I responded to this above and have nothing to hide from anyone.
:You have 11 different email addresses that show up in various search
engines on the web (several identified as being supplied directly from
you rather than by routine searches). Your work address is also there,
supplied by you.
I do not have 11 email accounts. Not all are mine and some are Mindspring alias'.
>I did not get any of the information above from any source not publicly
available and very easy to find (oh, like by using the "net search"
button in Netscape).
Your Internet prowess is astounding.
:I am not in any way, shape or form threatening you or your family, just
pointing out your foolishness in this area.
I am threatening you and have looked into legal issues regarding your post.
:How do you think your wife would feel about the suggestions and requests
you've made in some of those emails? Oh--anonymous email addresses
don't do you a bit of good if you sign them with your real name.
My wife looked at your web page sitting beside me and feels that she has NOTHING to worry about. We have been married a very long time and know each other very well. She has approved everything that has been typed by me in this post and email (I am responding to Ms. Smathers by email as well). Unlike you, she has never been divorced and from your mentioning that you have your daughter on weekends, my wife wishes to convey that she lives in the same house as her children and their father. Quite a novel approach to life, is it not?
:Email addresses of which I'm aware, though some may be outdated.
