Most of Hillyard's current usenet activity that I've found involves promoting his various web sites and MLM/referral schemes. I believe he's moved most of his discussions to his own web-based forum and others related to the adult entertainment industry. He has, however, continued to harass us.

The next three messages were all posted within a few minutes of each other from the same IP address.

Within minutes of posting the advertisements for one of his web sites, Hillyard posted a prostitution ad from the same IP address, instructing interested parties to write to an email address at my domain.

Apparently Hillyard didn't like the response I posted to the forged message. He copied the following message to the abuse department of my ISP to me. No, they didn't ever contact me about his complaint - I assume it was fairly obvious to them that he was truly to blame and I definitely wasn't harassing him. He did, however, confirm his address and give another telephone number (which I haven't verified, either).

Please don't. I'm sure there are "Asian Princesses" available in
Atlanta, but none of them have addresses at technomom.com. That
happens to be my personal domain. I am not and never have been a
prostitute or any other kind of sex worker - I'm a stay-at-home
mother and freelance technical writer. The only times I've ever
posted to alt.sex.prostitution (or any similar newsgroup) have been
in response to a forged message like the one above.

Since 1996, my daughter Katie (now 10, only 5 years old when this
nonsense started) and I have experienced harassment from someone who
apparently frequents alt.sex.prostitution and similar forums. Several
prostitution ads have been posted by the harasser directing
unsuspecting potential customers to contact me. This would seem to be
his way of getting others to send me unwanted email - he appears to
be afraid to send email to me directly. Harassing and threatening
emails have also been sent to my and Katie's mailboxes and messages
have been forged in both our names in many different newsgroups. My
partner, Sam, has also received unwanted messages from this person.

updated that portion of my site in some time, as I simply haven't had
time to do so - but the background is all there.

Between 1:33 and 1:52am EST on 12/15/00, four posts were made to
alt.sex.prostitution. All of those posts were made by a user of
flashcom.net and were sent through deja.com. All four posts came from
the IP address 63.248.173.52. Three used the return address
escortinfousa_sysop@my-deja.com and were advertisements for the
hotlantaasp.com web site, which is owned by Richard Hillyard. The
fourth used the return address fat_technomom@deja.com (not an address
I have or have ever had) and instructed readers to contact
asia@technomom.com for "pricing and location."

Given the similarities in all four posts, it is reasonable to assume
that they were all made by the same person. If you want to actually
contact the person who most likely posted those messages and wasted
your time, please contact the owner of hotlantaasp.com - he's given
usr4@ATLGA.COM as his email address in his domain registration (he
also owns atlga.com, hillyardfamily.com, hillyard.net,
hillyardtech.com, and others I've forgotten at the moment), but he
has many others. I'm told that his offline contact information is:

If you've considered signing up for the message boards at the
hotlantaasp.com site - which apparently requires the release of a
fair amount of personal information (according to posts archived from
this newsgroup at Deja.com) - or buying something through the "mall"
there, you might want to reconsider. Hillyard has, among many other
crimes, been convicted of seven felony counts of credit card fraud.
Other convictions were for burglary, kidnapping, theft by stealing,
and theft by receiving stolen property (case numbers, dates, etc. are
available at http://www.technomom.com/harassed/convict.html). It's
entirely possible that he has other convictions (I don't have any
reason to think I know his full background), but in any case I
wouldn't give the man my credit card number or any other information,
and I doubt many others would if they knew of his background before
doing so.

I am not suggesting that you harass Hillyard or anyone else. I'm
simply redirecting your communication to the person who apparently
wants to talk to people about prostitution. I'm afraid there's no one
in this household who is interested in the subject. I have nothing
against prostitutes or those who frequent them, but I'm sure you can
appreciate the fact that I don't want people to think that I am in
that industry when that is not the case.
